Structural engineering (Ivanhoe, VIC 3079)
Coveil completed structural design for an Ivanhoe residence using a concrete raft slab foundation system and a combination of timber framing and steel portal frames to achieve the desired architectural form and open-plan spaces. The design incorporated curved masonry elements and cantilevered structural features, requiring careful detailing to manage torsion, deflection performance and constructability. Where façade elements formed part of the structural expression, we coordinated connection detailing and support requirements to ensure a robust and buildable solution. The design approach aligns with NCC referenced standards, including AS/NZS 1170 for design actions and AS 3600/AS 4100 for concrete and steel design as applicable.
Civil engineering / stormwater (Ivanhoe – OSD + rainwater tanks)
Coveil provided stormwater design incorporating an on-site detention system and rainwater tank storage to satisfy detention targets and support reuse opportunities. Designs were developed using ARR guidance and typical authority submission requirements, with a focus on straightforward site maintenance, overflow safety and compliant discharge control configuration.
