Structural engineering (Essendon, VIC 3040)
For this Essendon residence, Coveil provided structural engineering for a dwelling incorporating masonry walls, curved masonry features, a concrete raft slab footing system, timber framing and steel portal frames. The project included a basement and pile retention design, plus suspended concrete slab and cantilevered structural components. We ensured stability and constructability through a clear structural load path, considered detailing for excavation and retention works, and robust coordination between basement elements, upper floor framing and façade interfaces. Structural design was prepared under NCC requirements using referenced standards for actions and materials (AS/NZS 1170, AS 3600, AS 4100 and related residential footing standards where applicable).
Civil engineering / stormwater (Essendon – OSD + rainwater tanks)
Coveil delivered stormwater engineering for the Essendon allotment including an on-site detention solution and rainwater tank storage to meet stormwater detention targets within limited site space. We focused on practical drainage grades, pit locations, overflow provisions and discharge control details consistent with ARR guidance and typical council OSD expectations across metropolitan Melbourne.
